    July 29, 2010, 6:00 am
After so many years of being an alcoholic, my dad finally decided to stop. But he doesn't know where to start. He is asking help from all of us, members of the family. We suggested to him to enter an alcohol treatment center. He agreed, but he wants us to visit him as often as possible. So, we decided to bring him to the place where we can easily drop by and say hello.

  7. Drug addiction and recovery stories?

    July 21, 2010, 6:18 am
I'm doing a research paper on drug addiction and I'd like some real life stories to add some real detail. If you have any stories of yourself or someone who was close to you who was an addict I'd like to know. If you were/are an addict, what was/is it like? And if you know someone who was close to you who was/is an addict, what was like from your point of view? How did you first become addicted? Why did you try drugs/alcohol? What made you try them? What made you realize you needed to quit? How bad did your addiction get? What was it like watching your loved one hurt themselves?

  9. Would price increase stop binge drinking?

    July 19, 2010, 2:20 am
I think price incease will have no effect in tackling binge drinking in this country. UK charges the highest price for a packet of cigarette in the whole world, but it doesn't stop or deter smokers. Until UK government learn to educate citizens and refrain from attaching social reform legislations with financial revenue, things won't change, but get even worse. Binge drinking leads to criminal act, but we call it as "anti-social behaviour" without realising that there is a wide gap between an antisocial behaviour and criminal behaviour. It is an antisocial behaviour when you knowingly drop a liter or piss in the street. But it is a criminal behaviour when you have drank too much alcohol and went to cause disturbance in the community, stamping on cars and gathering in groups to cause harrassment in the community. I ask this government, how would extra 60p on a pint of beer solve the problem of binge drinking? What youths need is education not financial penalty.
